Welcome to the Emberlyn Blog!

A little bit about me

I’m Katie, Founder of Emberlyn Marketing. I started the company in March of 2023 after I came to the realization I wanted to hold the keys to my future and pave my own way.

I grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta where I still live to this day with my husband and pup Winston. Before I got to where I am now, I attended Kennesaw State University where I studied Communications and Public Relations. After college, I became a career nanny for 8 years before I transitioned into the corporate world.

I worked as an Administrative Assistant for an IT Consulting Firm, and after about a year in that role, I found myself working with the Head of Marketing where I was promoted to Marketing Coordinator and then Specialist.

The Marketing path was something that made sense and that I was passionate about. I was writing newsletters, updating the website, editing RFPs, managing our LinkedIn page, and ultimately utilized my best skills.

I eventually moved on to another company where I continued to work in Marketing. That is when I decided that I wanted to start my own company and use what I had learned in the corporate world to help small business owners feel less overwhelmed by web design and email marketing.

It’s been a few months now since I started Emberlyn and I’ve come to realize that my love of serving the family I worked for as a nanny/household manager truly filled me up. I made an impact every single day in their family, and it didn’t go unnoticed. I’ve been longing to have that feeling back, and I am thrilled to be able to serve again by using the skills I’ve been given to help other women in their businesses.

So why did I start this blog?

Reason #1

This blog began out of my mission to help small business owners just like you, understand web design and email marketing. To make it feel less overwhelming, and hopefully provide you with tips and tricks to help you take action in your business.

When I was working at my last company, I saw a huge gap in the market where small business owners were lacking the knowledge and skills needed to market their businesses well. It fired me up to help other people understand it, because it doesn’t have to be a mystery.

Reason #2

You knew you weren’t going to read a blog written by a marketer and not hear that you need to grow your email list, right? Well, here we are.

If you want to grow your email list, you need to be publishing long-form content. It doesn’t matter whether it is a blog, a podcast, or a Youtube channel, in order to provide value to your customers and rank on Google you need to be putting out the content.

So here you have landed on my long-form content of choice, a blog because I prefer writing. You do what works best for you and something that you can be consistent with.

What you’re gonna learn.

Here are a few things you will be learning about on the blog:

  • How your website can help grow your business

  • Squarespace tips and tricks

  • The importance of maintaining and updating your website

  • Web design tips

  • Email marketing

  • Flodesk

  • Basic SEO tips

  • And MORE!

Wanna know why you should stick around?

Alex Hormozi said, “You can get “good enough” at almost anything in 20 hours of focused effort. The problem is, most people spend years delaying the first hour.”

In this blog, you will find actionable tips that will help you grow your business which means you will be educated and get time back to serve your customers. I had a client tell me she worked with another web designer previously, and she left the situation more confused than ever. She said I asked direct questions assuming she didn’t know the answer, rather than the other way around. My approach helped her feel capable of answering the questions so she could make the right decisions for her business.

You will leave this blog learning and becoming “good enough” as Alex puts it at the things you are feeling confused about right now. You just need to stop delaying that first hour, and I’m here to help!

I hope that you will join us in this community. I am here to help you, so don’t hesitate to send me an email or comment and let me know what I can help you with.
