My Go-To Work-From-Home Essentials In 2026
Working from home has a lot of perks, but one of my favorites is getting to create a workday that I actually enjoy. Over the last couple of years, I've figured out the little things that help me feel more like myself, whether that's getting dressed in an outfit I love, starting my morning with a favorite drink, or using a few tools that make running my business easier.
None of these things are going to completely change my business, but together they've made my days more productive, more enjoyable, and just a lot more fun.
So, if you're one of the many women entrepreneurs building a business from your kitchen table, home office, or even your couch, I thought it would be fun to share a few of my current favorites. You don't need these, but they might spark an idea or two for creating a workday that feels a little more like you. They're simply the things I'm loving right now and reaching for almost every single day.
The Little Things That Make a Big Difference
Getting Dressed Every Day Changed My Business
One of the biggest changes I made had nothing to do with my business. It had everything to do with getting dressed.
In a relatively short period of time, life changed a lot. I lost 60 pounds, became a mom, and transitioned to running my business from home full time. Somewhere in the middle of all those changes, I found myself living in athleisure. It made sense. Leggings were comfortable, easy to chase a toddler in, and everyone else seemed to be wearing them too.
The problem was,I didn't feel like myself anymore. Every day I'd throw something on because it was easy, but it wasn't making me feel confident or excited to start the day.
Getting dressed every day isn't about looking nice for a Zoom meeting or impressing someone on the internet. It's something I do for me. When I feel confident walking into my office, I show up differently for my clients. I feel more focused, more creative, and more excited to do the work I love.
One of the best investments I made was working with stylist Sophia Bayly. She didn't just tell me what clothes to buy. We started with a conversation about my goals, then I created a Pinterest board full of outfits and styles I was drawn to. From there, we went through my closet together, deciding what to keep, what to let go of, and what pieces would make getting dressed feel easy again. By the end of it, she had put together a personalized style guide and shopping list, so I wasn't wandering around a store hoping I'd find something that worked.
If you're in a season where you're trying to feel more like yourself again, I can't recommend Sophia enough. She made the whole process so much easier, and it's one of those investments that's continued to pay off every single morning when I get dressed.
And if you're curious, I've also rounded up some of the pieces I'm currently loving in my ShopMy Closet.
Athleisure isn't the enemy, BTW. I still wear it. But putting on an outfit that makes me feel put together has become one of the simplest ways for me to show up as the best version of myself for the people I get to work with every day.
What I'm Drinking (Yes, This Matters)
If you know me, you already know I'm a drink girly. I always have some kind of fun drink within arm's reach, and plain water is usually my last choice. Give me a cute cup, a fun can, or something with a little personality (*cough* flavor), and suddenly answering emails feels a whole lot more exciting.
Diet Coke will forever be at the top of the list. It's my go-to, it's not up for debate, and honestly, I don't think it needs an explanation.
Back in 2023, I stopped drinking alcohol, but I still missed the experience of winding down with a fun drink at the end of the day. I tried plenty of options, but most of them just tasted like sparkling water with a prettier label.
Then I found De Soi, and it was exactly what I'd been looking for.
It's the first non-alcoholic drink I've tried that actually feels like you're having a cocktail. It isn't trying to be a flavored seltzer. It feels like you're having something special at the end of the day, and that's exactly what I was looking for. If you're on the hunt for a good mocktail, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try.
And because I couldn't leave La Croix out, it's still a staple around here too. So yes, if you opened my fridge right now, there's a pretty good chance you'd find Diet Coke, La Croix, and De Soi all sitting next to each other.
My Morning Routine Anchors Everything
I am a routine person through and through. My morning routine before I had a kid was extensive. We’re talking two hours. But now, it isn't anything elaborate (mom life), but I know that taking time for myself before I open my laptop makes a huge difference in how I serve my clients.
One thing that's become a non-negotiable part of my mornings is taking a few minutes to journal. My brain usually has about 47 tabs open before I've even had my morning smoothie, so getting everything out on paper helps me stop carrying it around all day.
I use this brain dump sheet every morning to do exactly that. It gives me one place to get everything out of my head before I open my laptop, and it helps me start the day feeling focused instead of overwhelmed. I shared more about how I use this brain dump sheet and why it's become such an important part of my routine in “The Planning System That Helps Me Run My Business From Home.”
Once I've gotten everything out of my head, I like filling it back up with something that matters even more.
My faith is a huge part of who I am, and that doesn't stop when I sit down to run my business. Before I start thinking about what needs to get done, who needs something from me, or what I need to accomplish that day, I want to spend time with God first. It reminds me that I don't have to carry the weight of my business by myself. It helps me stop focusing on everything on my to-do list and start focusing on serving the people God has placed in front of me.
That's where the Dwell app comes in. It's a Bible app that lets you listen to Scripture, and it's become such a consistent part of my mornings. I can spend time in God's Word before the rest of the day starts asking for my attention, and for me, that time is non-negotiable.
Now I don't think you need a perfect two-hour morning routine with a checklist of ten things you have to do before you're allowed to start working. That's definitely not what mine looks like anymore. I think it's important to have a few things that bring you back to what matters before the day's demands begin.
For me, that's journaling and spending time with God. Those few minutes change the way I walk into the rest of my day.
My Social Media Content Essentials
Creating content is a huge part of my business. It's one of the biggest ways people find me, so showing up consistently has never really been optional.
I've learned something really important though: showing up consistently doesn't mean doing every single thing yourself.
Realizing I don't have to do everything myself has completely changed the way I run my business. I wrote more about that shift in “Letting Go Of DIY Is One Of The Biggest Growth Shifts In Business.” I outsource my Reel editing because I'd much rather spend that time serving clients, dreaming up new ideas, and working on the parts of my business that only I can do.
When it comes to filming, though, I like to keep things really simple.
Lately, I've been loving the Edits app. The built-in teleprompter alone makes it worth downloading. It helps me stay on track without feeling like I have to memorize everything I want to say. If you've ever had to restart a Reel because you forgot what you were going to say halfway through, you'll understand exactly why I love it.
As for the rest of my setup, there's nothing fancy about it. I use a tripod, a good light, and a wireless microphone, and that's about it. You don't need a fancy studio or expensive equipment. You just need a few good tools that make creating content a little easier.
I've linked my entire content creation setup in my CEO Essentials ShopMy collection if you want to see exactly what I'm using these days.
These Are My Current Entrepreneur Favorites
If there's one thing running a business from home has taught me, it's that the little things usually make the biggest difference. A routine you love. A favorite drink. An outfit that makes you feel like yourself again. A few tools that make your job a little easier.
Those are the things I'm loving right now, and I hope maybe you found a new favorite too. If you end up trying something from this list, I'd love to hear what you think. And if there's something you absolutely swear by that you think I need to try, send it my way. I'm always up for trying something new, so if you have a favorite, don't keep it to yourself.
